now that this hijack protection mechanism is brought to us by Windows 8 and bugged/fixed by Cisco (Windows 8 clients can’t associate to Cisco Unified Wireless), what is 802.11w status at Mikrotik?
No replies since Nov. 2013?
This is just stupid from microsoft to force to use 802.11w with Win8 when the 99% of the AP in the market doesnt support it.
So whats the workaround? using WEP? or Buy a Cisco? this sucks!
I used to be in the same dilema a year ago … numerous issues that windows 8.x introdouced and I could not solve in a proper way and in short time… finally I gave up and started using another OS for my platform. I use a windows7 in a virtualized enviroment for those two programs I could not yet find a proper replacement, but everything else works fine. SInce then I recomend and encourage everybody that has issues using that terrible microsoft product to migrate to something else as soon as possible. You will not regret it. I also support many customers that have left microsoft as their primary platform and they have no regrets or wishes to return.
