I have a LOS with some trees (one row) 1.32 mile link with a pair of 9hpn radios. 14 dbi gain antennas on both side.
The radio says the noise floor is -110dBm.
I am using 5 mhz channel and have tried 10 and 20 as well.

With SNR and signal this good.. I figured the link would work well but it does not. I see a lot of OFDM errors and the CCQ is very bad.

I can connect to the remote side but it will disconnect a lot and trying to use the internet is very difficult.

I really don’t see why this should work this badly.
I am guessing three things.
- Bad co-channel noise (which does not appear to be the case from what I see)
- Bad adj-channel noise (which I don’t seem to see in the numbers either)
- Bad hardware on one or both sides.
I already changed the coax on both sides. I have one more radio I am going to swap with but I am not convinced that is the issue.
With the numbers I see, I thought that 802.11n protocols might work so I tried to force the radios to connect at one of the 802.11n modulations… it would not link.
Is there anything more I can do? Any ideas?
