Dears,
I was following a tutorial setting PCQ with a bridge, and latter I decided to remove the bridge and the PCQ, now
my system is completely screwed. I am not able to surf the net and anything beyond local interface.
I have RB433 with a wireless add on card. I had them all masquraded with the public interface and it all worked fine.
right after adding and removing a bridge as:
interface: add interface → add bridge
bridge: add ports → add one for local and one for public
interface: remove bridge
bridge: remove ports: both local and public
just after these addition and removal without doing anything else, the system is unable to communicate with the outside world.
please need help urgently because it’s affecting customer.
Apply a command
/ip address export; /ip route export; /ip firewall nat export;
in the terminal and post results here.
Check any settings that may depend on the bridge, like ip addresses, routes, nat, etc. Most times they do not “reset themselves”. You need to do it.
uhhhhhhh, I am so tired… to get things up and running, I did a complete system reset… just to satisfy customers, my hotspot is now publicly open.
THANK GOD my personal hotspot web site I had created is still listed in the file directory. that make the work a bit easier.
I have no clue what exactly had happened when adding bridge and removing it could cause such a problem.
the only think I JUST THINK could have interfered with the dns, cause when re-configured the system; just
before setting up the dns entries in the:
DHCP server - Networks - DNS servers
I was experiencing the same dead end of delay when opening a site.
but I don’t know if adding a bridge had caused a screw up dns entries.
the most important part: Thanks all for your replies… you guys are the best… kisses and hugs… I am happy now the system is functional.
let me back and continue completing the configurations…
ohhhh one think… is there a full router system backup that i can save on disk… maybe that is exactly what i need.
peace…
