A place for poetry

Being called “haiku” of forum gurus by ZeroByte here http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/pre-purchase-advise-please/98055/1 it inspired me to fulfil that nickname and start with the poetry. Please, note that I am native Czech, without any previous experience with this very special japaneese poetry form and what is more, I am trying to write it in English. Very bad combination.

I do believe that gentle Japan fellows will forgive me.

So, here is the very first haiku:

RouterOs.
Read the forum -
You’ll succeed.

And the second is right here too:

Routerboards.
Avoid the Google -
miss the truth.

Hope others can follow.

A technical forum this is
on mikrotik topic should stay

They cry out for help
A proper solution comes
Then they reject it

– a haiku about the Mikrotik forums.

Following that t-shirt I saw on some EU MUM:

let your friends bridge their net
suddenly, looping occurs
you are no more their friend

calm down, engineer
your anger’s not worth much
the network is down

critical router just hung
don’t rush to reboot it in haste
think about eternity

three things are certain:
death, taxes and packet loss
guess what is happening right now

the Tao which you are following
is not the true Tao until you
install recent RouterOS version

installed and set up the router
no UDP support for OVPN
looking forward to version 7

Challenge accepted

Trees are spanning
Bridges waiting
Do not forget your roots

Follow the path
The target you will find
Remember way home

Open ports
Follow rules
Do not let walls fire

There is a packet for you
Mr Postman waiting
Check your address

Torch it
Sniff it
You are not alone

If you are an ISP,
you know the headache it can be

Clients love you for delivering the web,
but when it breaks they loathe you instead

Half of the time the fault is theirs,
But don’t tell them that, they don’t care

But do not worry, feel comfort with this,
When computers take over.. support will be bliss

New WAN connection
The LAN side never shall hear
Screams of dropped packets

When given a spoon
you should not cling to your fork.
The soup will get cold.

You can use a fork
For the meat at the bottom
If you drank your soup

Can we do wrap here?
It’s not very clear.

Strong wifi indoors
in the middle of deads.

New ROS version available
Upgrade, reboot and nothing
A long pizza night awaits

“offline” is the new escape.

i read it in a t-shirt and i like it much in those digital times!

OSPF sleeps
BGP peers are quiet
something must be wrong

no icons, no mouse
no drop down menus
Terminal is cool
