Lets assume we have some sites around a country each site connected to internet . now we are using EOIP to connect users of each site with pppoe to center site (for centralized radius server …) . is it a better way than EOIP to transport pppoe to main site ?
Terminate PPPoE on the edge and only haul the RADIUS traffic back to the central site. Why are you hauling all the PPPoE tunnels?
All users should connect to main office . it is a must .
if its a must that users need to connect to main office, than there is no much field to choose. other option is to use MPLS-VPLS, but if traffic goes only to one destination, it will be overengineering using MPLS.
What is wrong with EoIP that you are planning to change ?
Overhead and speed .
You’re not going to do much better, quite frankly. There’s only 28 bytes or so overhead (I think. It’s early) and very little processing as far as comparison with other tunnels go.
