About Ack. Timeout

Hi,

What is the difference between the “ack timeout” (now “Distance”) parameter that you can set in the interface configuration and the “ack timeout” that you can see on a client in Registration?. Why you can see diferents ack timeouts for each client in registration?, when is supposed that the ap has set just one ack timeout in general for all transmitions (tell me if i’m wrong)…

I’ve seen cases where the ack timeout (in registration) was high (200-400 us) in clients closed to the ap (0,5 milles/0,8Km - 1,5 miles/2,4 Km) with regular/good signal (-72dBm/-66dBm) and the throughput was bad , why can be that?

Thanks.

mikrotik sets ack timeout for farthest registered client. try to use nstreme protocol for better ping and troughput.

dont forget to give karma

Ack showing odd times for close connections generally means something local is interfering or you don’t have a clean shot.

I could tell when one customer was using their microwave.
