Hello all, as far my latest quetstion does not have much success, i have to re-ask it… again, like many other on this forum, because i did not find any useful answer, unfortunately. Why Capsman keeps to assign to various CAPs the same channel without (apparently) a reason? In my latest experiment with a cAP and a wAP placed very close to each other, Capsman assign the same frequency to both, even i select 3 frequencies (“classic” channels 1, 6, 11) in channels tab. Why? why i have to force selection of channels on each cap? Various caps doesn’t “listen” to other caps to select the correct channel?
You are right, there is not direct response from MikroTik about this topic.
In fact, Capsman was not think to achieve auto channel selection when you turn on yours AP. The only response meanwhile is that we have to choose it manually for each AP , using the old frequency channel planning and tuning as you test when is possible.
Does mikrotik team have in the roadmap of capsman this?. Normis, Uldis?
New RouterOS version have option to specify multiple frequencies in the frequency field for the CAPsMAN configuration.
Also we have an option for reselect-interval where the CAP will do periodic check if a better channels is found.
Thanks @uldis, but I’ve already set multiple channels in selection tab. But capsman keeps assign the same channel to both caps. The only thing that I have not set is the reselect interval. I surely will try it. The only question is: during the scanning time, caps will stop working, right? How long is the scanning time?
Thanks in advance
How do I go about manual selecting channels in a capsman cofig that’s all ready setup basically how do I edit or change the config really need to because it seems to be set to b/g so I want to change or edit the config to use channels 1/6/11 on b/g/n
