hellow my friends
i would like to ask about the elevation that the omini antenna should be fitted with it
suppose you live in a building with 10 meters elevation . you have an omini antenna 5 ghz / 15db you want to trasnmit internet sevice
wirelessly actually in a circuit aera with one kilometer in half diameter
can someone help me to tell me which is the best elevation of the omini antenna put it on the building
with thanks
Hi,
Many classical questions exist:
You do need many 5.x GHz gears for a circuit area with one kilometer in half diameter.
What are the client devices? laptops, indoor/outdoor AP in client mode…? 5.x GHz can not penetrate walls, leaves. 2.4 GHz is far better.. How many users to be served? target bandwidth per user? backhauling wired/wireless? internet bandwidth provided by ISP?
Could you give more details?
Regards
Ali
**thank you very very very much to your replay
1- the users is 10-20
2-targed bandwith per user..all i know is that the users ask me about download speed 30-40kb/sec they want these range of speed .
with reasonable browsing speed (( by the way..how can i determine the targed bandwith per user .i mean how can i know it ? ))
3- backhauling wired/wireless …i never have any idea about this subject ..what do you mean please ?
4-internet bandwith provided by your isp … my information is zero…!!!
how can i know it ? down an image from my wierless device which in connection with the isp

5- client devices are nanostation 5ghz ..wireless with station mode
please need so much the replay
with thanks**
→ relatively low number and should not be problem. Will the number be increased?

→ I think 30-40 Kbps can not satisfy the customer. It should be at least 200-300 Kbps to dowload WEB pages in reasonable time..
→ Since Nanostation 5 (or M5 ??) to be used, you may not need to use any other AP distributed in serving area.
→ ADSL, SHDSL, fiber, coax to connect ISP?
→ Is client device UBNT Nanostation 5 or M5 (MIMO) ?? I would use UBNT Rocket M5 with 13 dBi omni antennas … But it is very hard to say that omni is satisfactory (may be sector antenna is appropriate) since no any info available about the area (LOS, NLOS, building types&heights, trees, where is the internet connection (at the place where wifi AP located?), poles height (you do need!) …
thank you very much
actually im an internet agent..i get internet service from internet company using virtual network using point to point link using flatt antenna with routerboard 433..down the setting results of my internet device..can you tell me is my link is ok to transmit the service ? i fell i need the information till now i dont know how can i put the omini antenna in the correct elevation
my house is 10 meters elevation

Hi,
Something wrong with CCQ. Expecting higher CCQ values. Please try to use the most stable (may not be the latest version) firmware.
If you need more robust link (especially against noise and bad wheather conditions) noi by sacraficing speed, you may decrease channel width (10 or 20 MHz). Play with power output levels and absorve throughput, CCQ etc… Please check on MT site on how to increase CCQ..
Start generating traffic by using jperf or iperf to see REAL THROUGHPUT. 27286 Kbps is not real/net throughput. It is air throughput.
