access to mikrotik via public IP using winbox

Hi

I was given an Ip range from the data center: 41.311.42.64

i have setup an RB750 with port 1 plugged into a WAN with public IP.
I have allocated that port with the public IP 41.311.42.65
Port 1 is the gateway to the internet

in port 2, i have plugged in a Linux server and allocated IP 41.311.42.66 to it. I have set port 2 on the router the same IP.

When i try IP 41.311.42.66 from the public internet, it takes me to my server, and if i go to 41.311.42.66:8291 or 41.311.42.66/userman does not take me to Mikrotik setup.

Nor can i login via Winbox on IP 41.311.42.66

To make it worse, now i cannot login to the router at all, from any of the ports :frowning:

ahh, dunno now.. any assistance please?

Do you have TCP 8291 port open?

You can’t have the same subnet on two different routed interfaces. Routing just doesn’t work like that, and by doing that, you have the end result of where you are now. You will likely need local access of some sort to fix the problem.

Look into using safe mode in the future too, it can save you a lot of headaches.
