Access via Winbox

We are about to install a desktop running RouterOS and use it as our main router to our network. Normally you access one of the routerboards from your laptop or remotely from someplace else. Is it possible to have winbox access the machine that the RouterOS actually resides on? My goal is to have this machine running and to have the GUI (Winbox) up and running on it and be able to access itself. That way I wouldn’t have to access it from another machine. Is this possible? Thanks for your help! :astonished:

Sorry - not possible… WinBox is a Windows application, RouterOS is
a) linux based
b) a “closed” system which does not let you install custom software

Okay. Thanks for the info. I will come up with a solution! I have been using Linux for about two years and have started using RouterOS for about six months now and love them both. I am sold!!!
