Accessing LHGG on WAN

Hi All,

I want to:

  • use an LHGG as an external LTE modem, working in a bridge mode to avoid an additional layer of NAT, and
  • use a hEX as a router.

I was wondering what are the options to access LHGG from a PC on the LAN on hEX.

Rough sketch of the network:

Hi,

This really depends on the setup, if your LHGG in passthrough mode you can activate ROMON on hex and LHGG then connect to LHGG via romon, if your hex next-hop/gateway/default-route is your LHGG and LHGG is reachable via IP then you can connect it using winbox directly

LHGG is indeed the next hop from hEX and reachable via IP.

I tried adding a management VLAN between LHGG and hEX but failed horribly (I think I caused an IP loopback).

Will give it another try once I have some free time.
