I was trying to configure a BaseBox2 and I accidentally plugged the POE+DATA side of the RBGPOE injector to my computer’s network adapter (which doesn’t do PoE, not surprisingly). Could it cause damage to my network adapter? Or does the RBGPOE first try to detect whether the device is PoE-capable before feeding power?
Your computer should withstand that. But none can guarantee… And no, there is no negotiation, the poe is passive.
