I have a serious problem with some new cards. I tested COMPEX WLM54G23 and DCMA-81. Its weird…
23 ppl on one sector. Signals from -50dBm to -70dBm (noise lvl -104dBm), distance to clients 100-1000 meters. ACK for everybody is 56 (very strange, same 56us for every client), but one or two random clients have ACK ~300-500us. What is the problem? I tested these cards on RB532A (newest one), RB133, RB133C, P4 on i865, software from 2.9.38 to 2.9.46. When the problem appears there is a problem with transfer, pings ~200-1000ms. When i drop these clients transfer back to normal (about 4mbit @ 600pps on one card). But few hours later another 1-2 random clients get huge ACK and bleeeee.
Help guys, i have no idea what to do! I check everything: antenas, signals, cables, pigtails, cards, RBs, noise, WEP, WPA, less clients and transfer on one sector… Still same issue but only on AR5413 and AR5414 (DCMA-81 should be detected as 5414, but it’s not). This problem doesn’t appear on AR5212 and AR5213. Clients are connected using RTL8186 WISPs (blackbox, with aprouter and ovislink 5460 V2).
Any ideas how to fix it? This problem doesn’t exist on 5GHz, only on 2,4GHz.
I have exactly the same problem one one AP with five clients that I’ve been watching.
All units are Mikrotik based - the AP is a WRAP with an SR2 radio on an omni, all clients are either RB112 or RB133c units with CM9 or WLM54G radios - 2.4GHz access obviously, full channel width at the moment, 802.11B only. All software is 2.9.45 or 2.9.46.
As ack timeout is more or less a function of distance, why are the two shorter range and the two longer range clients differing in ack time by a factor of 10?
