If a device goes Down in the Dude (Red), I can mark it as acknowledged (Blue). When the device comes back up it changes back to Green. The problem I’m seeing is that were the device to go down a second time, it will become Blue again. It’s as though the Dude still considers the problem acknowledged. This seems odd, since I would have to manually Unacknowledge devices after they’ve come back up. Is this intended behavior or a bug?
It seems that this is the intended behaviour, though in most cases an automatic UnAck when the device comes back up would make more sense. I have asked for an auto/manual UnAck function per each device be included in a future release of The Dude (lets see how that goes). In my organisation we have adopted the process that the person who Acks the problem resolves it and then UnAcks the device as part of the issue resolution process. I must admit that this process does not always get followed though and subsequent failures can be masked by the previous Ack.
