I am running an RB951G-2HnD as an AP. I would like to add 5GHz to it as well, so assuming I can find a 5GHz Atheros USB stick, can I plug one into it to use as a second WLAN interface?
Here are some that are known to work with the USB interface. The only challenge you may will be the power limits.

If you find such, please Share it with us. I need the same
OK, so mere presence of an Atheros chipset is no guarantee of success. Bummer! I’m yet to positively identify a 5GHz USB device with an Atheros chipset anyway.
I am running a RB2011 with just 2.4Ghz. I’d also love to add 5Ghz to it. RB951G would be awesome as additional device with it’s multiple ports and all, but they are apparently not available with 5Ghz. Does anyone know of any plans towards 5Ghz radios in those?
Came here looking for the easiest way to augment my wonderful 951 with 5ghz.. Still searching. Waiting for hap ac…
Also interested to have 5GHz wireless in my RB951G-2HnD
Some solution using the USB port?
Unfortunately no. At least as I know.
