Adding storage through miniPCI to RB433

Hi,

I have a RB433 which has a 3 miniPCI ports. It has no sd or other storage slot. http://routerboard.com/RB433
There are some products for miniPCI: miniPCI SATA storage cards, miniPCI CF cards etc.
Is it supported by routerOS to add such a card and use that additional storage on Routerboard RB433?

Regards,

do you have any specific mini-pci card that you want to use?
Note that there is no driver included in the RouterOS for such cards.
Also usually those cards require 5V to the mini-pci which is optional and only RB433UAH has that (with change of the resistor).

About 5V issue; What is the standart that defines that 5V thing? How can I match the routerboard port and miniPCI cards that I will use in routerboard miniPCI port?

we have tried to check if we would add support for MP-6421 but it isn’t possible to add it for RB400 series board.
why would you need to add external storage? try to use a routerboard with micro SD slot or RB800 with CF slot.

Actually I have enough cpu and memory with RB433. If I go up to RB433AH or RB43UAH for microSD slot, I will have to pay more. That is the point.

Thank you for your help.

don’t you have to pay more for that miniPCI storage device anyway?

Sure,
However miniPCI can provide connecting SATA hdd.

Anyway, Thank you very much.

But it’s not supported by RouterBOARD anyway. So you really have no choice but to use microSD or USB.
