is there anyone using additional SQUID cacheing server ? ( I bet there is )
i just wanna know ist usefull to use additional cache server rather than the one is already built-in MT ?
and how to connect this server to the network ? after or before MT ?
ok .. squid or any other web-cahe ..
it depend on your configuration ![]()
If you use SQUID as a cache engine, than let the MT just to do routing, I would not use cache after cache. Everything depends on your network needs and design.

Can we use Microsoft ISA Server as cache server withe MT? and how?
Is there a specific configuration in MT to deal with external cache
If you use MT as a router all you need is to redirect http to your cache server.

contact me on msn maroon_ibrahim@hotmail.com if u need any kind of caching systems in combination with mikrotik ![]()
can u pleas explain that
i think we just redirect any request destinated to port 80 to the external cache server IP address , its like that ..
but i’m asking about (how to instal a chache server ?) may be its not MT related subject , but i need help from MT users who are using external cache servers..l
me too, especially with Microsoft ISA server because it has amazing cache engine
If you really want a perfect cache engine, than use SQUID, and for the detailed installation and configuration refer to this web http://www.squid-cache.org/
We use SQUID FARM in our enterprise (200 Mbit/s traffic passthrough) and are very happy with it.

i didnt found SQUID FARM !!! ok i’m very new on installation linux , can you please guide me in this .. what kind of linux i need ??
red hat .. freebsd .. fedora .. debian .. ubunto … !!! ![]()
what I was meaning was server farm, several squid servers acting as one. So in your case you just stick to that web site and there you have all the info about the squid installation and configuration.

Probably best to ask Faton since he’s happy with his install , ubuntu is missing bits out of its squid package among other things so best avoid it.
You can do a lot of stuff with Squid itself, including blocking skype etc tunneling through it if you want , delay pools for clients using the proxy etc
Maybe access to the Squid.conf in the CLI in Mikrotik woul dbe a good idea ?
