Adjust minimum session time

Hello,
Is it possible to adjust a minimum session time for users.

For example, if i sell 5 hours of internet time to some user, he can spend it in 1 month, i want to make a minimum time per session, so always when he connects he would need to be on for at least 10 minutes.

Because some users buy this 5 hours, and then are connecting always just for 1 or 3 minutes just to send mails, but i want to stop this.

thank you

how do you imagine forcing them to browse the web longer  ? maybe just optimize your Plans to be according to user activity. Make a new “quick email checking” plan at a different price.

I thought that it is possible, that if he for example a customer disconnects after 2 min, the router still counts his session time until 10 min., and then stops.
If this is not possible, is it possible to limit the users by specifying a maximum number of sessions that will be allowed?

I want to do this because i sell this 5 hours at a much cheaper price than the rest in my internet cafe, but then i have some people that buy this 5 hours and then come each day , sit in the cafe for free, and work on their laptops for hours, and then just connect for 3 minutes, send the mails and go…

So i want to stop this
thank you

We will think about adding such feature, right now it’s not possible.

But still, I don’t understand the problem here  if the guy paid for 5 hours, it’s BETTER for you if he browses only 10 minutes. He paid for 5 hours, and he didn’t use the bandwidth.

Or maybe I didn’t understand you correctly. If he pays by the minute, then just put a sign - “minimum charge XXX$”

No, you didn’t understand me.
I am selling accounts that have uptime limit 5 hours, but they can be used over a month period.
So i have some customers that than buy this 5 hours, come everyday, use the internet just for few minutes to send and receive mails, and then still sit in the internet for hours and work on their laptops without internet.
So this 5 hours last them the whole month, because they use everyday just ex. 3-5 minutes of internet.

I would like to make it possible that each time they connect a minimum 10 minutes gets deducted from their time.

Please correct me if I’m wrong.

It sounds like you’re cheating your customers.

If they’re online for 3 mins, then disconnect, you want to set their time as if they were on for 10 mins?

It’s your business, not mine, but I wanted to just advise you this may not be the best practice.

Well i will not explain one more time, i have already done for several time.
If you don’t understand me, than please don’t call me a cheater because this is not nice.
And of course the customers would know that they have a minimum time per session.
In my cafe the customers are paying per blocks of 10 minutes and not per minute.

Anyways i just wanted to ask if its possible or not.

imaljko4,

I apologize. Based on my understanding of your question, I was stating my opinion, and only mine. I wanted you to correct me, as I wasn’t quite clear on your question. Thank you.

It is not possible to do block session times at his time (as above posts mentioned).

Anyway, I understand you question better now. I haven’t come across your scenario before, so forgive me for making suggestions that may not fit your specific needs. Also, thank you for bringing this topic up, as it gives a better understanding of the different payment plans used.

ok. Thank you for your help

We in the developing countries face this issue and most cafe timers have solved it nicely.
We want to prevent seat heaters.they occupy your seat fill your cafe but at the end pay very little.
Cafe timer then are made to charge a little for just sitting in the cafe.minimum cost .Charges in block of 10 or 15 hours so that any time the client access the network they pay the basic first.1-10 mins is equal to 10 mins.
we need this feature.
thanks
