I’m new here and need some help.
We have MikroTik with RouterOS v6.44.3 in the company.
Until April we had an administrator who is no longer with us, died and took the passwords with him.
Is there any way to recover the admin pass from the box itself?
I can not reset it, because it will wipe the VPN settings. ;(

Maybe he saved login details in the winbox on his pc. Otherwise you need to reset the devices…
No winbox on his PC, nothing in the browser history. 
What about ssh using identity files (private/public keys)? If you can get in that way as user with admin credentials, you can set password without knowing the old one.
Do you have any .backup files? I believe they contain user passwords in them that can be extracted.
Other then that, its too new for the old password database hack, you might not have much choice but to factory reset and rebuild - and learn a lesson on having multiple accounts/passwords or complete config backups.

Can’t find any.
Then only way for mikrotik is to reset devices to factory default!
