We are having issues with external adsl modems.
Most are flakey and the providers have NO CLUE !!
Is there a chance to get adsl cards (even one) added.
I have clients that would rip out their existing modem / routers and replace them with RouterOS if I could get ADSL added… ![]()
Chipset makers say that there is very little demand for PCI chips and the newest standard for DSL have not been introduced in PCI chipsets yet.
So, it seems there is not enough demand. We may add support for the few DSL PCI DSL cards out there, but it is low on the list at the moment.
The providers of the service and the standalone boxes must have a pretty bad system – all over Scandinavia, DSL is super stable. Only the telephone companies problems with routers and IP make for headaches.

The Providers seem to be the biggest issue.
The modems have their own issues, but he providers have NO CLUE how to set them up. (Unless you are a “home user” with NO needs)
If you ask them anything, its forever on hold while they find someone with a clue, and that is in question… We usualy call the modem mfg. and they seem to know more about the providers system than the provider does… I was just hopeing to get as much out of the loop as I could.. IE known hardware and an OS that made sense…
Keep up the Kick A$$ work…
