ADSL ISP MTU is 1442 ... Help in setting PPPoE Client MTU and MSS values

Guys as the subject say.. I have adsl line with mtu=1442 (windows → command prompt → ping 8.8.8.8 -f -l 1414 with no fragmentation) + 28 = 1442

setting adsl modem in bridge mode and creating pppoe client to connect directly to isp through mikrotik
what value should i set with mtu i read on other posts the value should be (adsl mtu) - 20 (8 for pppoe header and 12 for tcp header)

so is that correct with such a low mtu value i get from my ISP → 1442 - 20 = 1422

and what mss value should i set in mangle rule
i put ppp profile change-tcp-mss to no in order to create the value manually at mangle section

Please the answer is so urgent to improve line speed .. Thanks

Why not try different settings. It will not damage or whatever.

Not literally damaging but sure it will cause problems at loading some web pages like yahoo hotmail while users are browsing as well as taking around 10 to 20 second to re-connect pppoe-out interface again with my ISP to get the public ip address every time i modify the value of mtu and mss

Guys it won’t hurt to give such a simple math in counting pppoe client mtu and mss for the ISP mtu
