ADSL Modem Config?

Hi,

I’ve been struggling to get my head around this today so any help would be appreciated.

ADSL Router - 192.168.2.1/24 (PPPoA / NAT)

Mikrotik
Ether1 - 192.168.2.2/24 (default gateway 0.0.0.0/0 192.168.2.1)
Ether2 - 192.168.1.1/24
Laptop - 192.168.1.2/24

As the ADSL router in the UK uses PPPoA, I have to let it do the routing. NAT is enabled on the router therefore I suspect I don’t need NAT on the mikrotik? If this is the case, how does my 192.168.1.1 range access the internet? Do Ether1 & Ether 2 need to be in the same bridge or master/slave port?

I’ve tried a few different configs but I can’t get the Mikrotik or my laptop to ping the outside world. Pings just timeout at the mikrotik despite the default gateway being set.

You have to make a NAT of your local network
In New Terminal write:

/ip firewall nat
add action=masquerade chain=srcnat comment=“masquerade local network” src-address=192.168.1.0/24

You need to add a route on the ADSL router with destination 192.168.1.1/24 gateway 192.168.2.2 .
