ADSL

Hi everybody..
I wanna ask you guys for an advice and for some help ..
is it possible to work with adsl modem which I want to connect to my cyber cafe with 4mbps bandwidth speed
there are 15 PCs at my cyber cafe … and most of time only 10 are online …
would the connection be stable and working if I connect adsl modem to a mikrotik ethernet interface which means my source to the world wide would be adsl modem …
could all computers work fine … cuz of adsl (assymetric) … or I’ll have problems in upload or what so ever..
thanks in advance

p.s ofcourse I’ll share connection from another mikrotik ethernet interface to all PCs through switch :]

Hello.

1st of all, this is the wrong category for this question. A more appropiate place for this would have been the General Networking section, but maybe someone will move it.

Anyway, the short answer is YES, you can do that. I just recommend you use simple queues or other type of queue to limit the bandwidth a client can use. It’s relatively easy and the procedure is described in the manual, here:

http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2.9/root/queue_content.php#6.54.6.3

If you need something else, then just ask
