Hi,
I have used Advanced IP scanner for a long time with no issues. I use it to scan the network from a connected PC to get info on devices, IP, etc… it is easy and I like the export function. I know a similar scan can be done in winbox, but not as convenient from a test client without winbox…
If I run the scan now - it boots me out of winbox and will not allow me to connect. This occurs whether or not I run the scan while in winbox or not. Once I run the scan the only way for me to gain access to the router via winbox is via a hard reboot of the router. Any ideas?
I do not have any firewall rules that impede this. I am dropping excess pings, but not sure if that would cause this issue. Angry IP does not cause this behavior and will not lock up router/winbox.
I wonder if I’m experiencing the same issue. I’m locked out of winbox, webfig, mac-telnet and SSH on one of my routers, if I enter an incorrect username or password I immediately get a negative response, with the correct password the connection hangs for about a minute then says “Incorrect password”.
Strange. I manage quite a few routers and have yet to see this behavior. The only other thing I can think of is Winbox 3.18 was released at least in part to resolve an issue with failed logins. I’m betting you’re already on 3.18 though.
