Advice for WISP Base Station

Dear Experts of this forum, I need your advice to setup my wisp. at first I thought MT Basebox5 with 4 of Rfelements 18dB 90degree 5GHz sector Antenna for point to multipoint ap but now I’m thinking of RB435G with 4 of R52Hn Wireless cards and 4of above mentioned Rfelement sectors. Now I want to know, is it a good idea? If I use SXT Lite5 as cpe & if there is clear LOS between ap & cpe, what would be the maximum distance? as I came to know, Rb435g has 5 mini pci slot of which 4 can be used for wireless cards & 1 for backbone, what would be the configuration for p2mp ap & backbone?
do I need any more MT router to manage clients ip,bandwidth, and so on as RB435G has 3 Lan ports?
waiting for your kind answer. thanks in advance ..

If you want to start a wisp, remember this rule: never use omnidirectional antenna for link from AP to CPE.
Do not assign too much function to the same RouterBoard:
Is better (1 RB750UP + 5 Metal) or (1 RB750UP + 1 STX-G + 4 STX SA) or (1 RB750UP 1 Metal + 4 SXT SA) for 1 PTP and 4 AP 380°, than only one box…

STX SA → SXT Lite5 max 5 Km for link for each CPE, if are some problem you can use SXT HG.

5Km you can use Sextant or SXT HG
10Km you can use future QRT-5

you can use SXT Lite5 / SXT HG / Sextant / QRT-5* for CPE and RB951Ui-2HnD for power the CPE and as AP for client.

(* for QRT-5 you must power the RB951Ui-2HnD @ 24V)

You need one RB1100AHx2 to manage pppoe, dns, user-manager, etc.

Many many thanks for your advice Rextended,
I’ve approximately 100 customers who will provide their own cpe SXT Lite5 around 5km away from my base Station. In that case If I use 4 Basebox5 with rfelement 18dB 90 degree mimo sector antenna, will it be possible? I also want to setup 5hotspot around 1/2 km away from my base station, if so is it possible to manage hotspot clients bandwidth from RB 1100ahx2? what about RB2011UiAS-RM? is it possible for RB2011UiAS to manage those 100 cpe & hotspot clients togather?
please help me to resolve this.

Yes, all it’s possible, but for each sector do not connect more than 40 users!

I have ~1000 users for each 1100AHx2 (CPU 50%)

—but—

use another RB1100 for hotspot users, do not mix standard users and hotspot users…

I’m sorry to forget 1thing, if I use RB2011UiAS instead of RB1100AHX2 will it be possible to manage 100 clients?

RB1100AHx2 have 2Gb of ram @ 533MHz (DDR2), 2 core @ 1,066GHz

RB2011UiAS-xx-xxx have only 128Mb of ram @400MHz (DDR) and one single core @ 600MHz
I think as user concentrator can manage surely 50 users, for 100 I have no idea…
