Hello everyone.
I need to offer one of my customers a network link between two buildings.
The cabling is not feasible at the moment (work planned for next year).
The two buildings are facing each other, about 20 meters apart in open space.
What equipment could I use to guarantee a stable link with a good data rate?
And what type (directional, omni, etc.)?
Thank you in advance for all your advice
Best bet is 60HZ link. No interference from regular wifi. Its 1gig and just like an extended ethernet cable in function.

@MDZT, just be aware that certain 60GHz equipment designed for long-range might encounter issues with shorter distances. I recommend checking with Mikrotik support before making a purchase.
Wow MT support has a help line for answering product questions?? Dont they normally say go talk to a dealer?
Well, that’s also an option. Though, I wouldn’t bet on a high success rate in this case…
Thank you all for your answers and advice,
As far as dealers are concerned, I’m a dealer/installer in my small region and work with an ultra-wholesaler who doesn’t have in-depth technical knowledge of the Mikrotik range.
But my current skills concern routers and switches, and I’d like to include Mikrotik Wifi products, which I currently use under other brands.
Finally, I’ve already tried PLC (powerline) products, but this solution doesn’t work properly on your site.
For only a 20 meter span, can you at least temporarily run a cable either overhead on a messenger cable or even in a piece of conduit laying on the ground? Optical would be preferred over copper to avoid noise / ground voltage differences / etc.
Obviously not a long term solution, but would that be workable?
I had a pair of wireless wire sitting on my desk for 2 weeks. Distance of 1 Meter. I was testing the PowerBox Pro Power and Switch Chip.
It worked fine.
Good evening, cabling is not possible at the moment, work is planned for the beginning of the year.
To put it in context, it’s to connect a vehicle access control station to the main building.
During future works, a trench will be dug, and I need to provide a reliable solution until then.

Treat it like a long wire.
You mean the same link from post #2 ?
Exactly what I mean!
Since he didn’t follow your prior advice… Figured I would reenforce it.
Im thinking of the pro cubes myself for a later project on my property. Easy way to get internet and thus wifi to another location.
I am nervous about the Pro Cubes. Couple posts about water getting in them.
The old cubes didn’t seem to have the issue.
I got a pair and I can see where I would want to put silicone around a few edges.
Yes freezing and thawing does wonders on ill constructed outdoor equip.
A burning roof took this one out. Actually it was when the fire was being put out. Something finally made that small hole in the top.
