Hi,
I have the typical network with 2 omnitiks, and several SXT (each SXT serving multiple PCs).
My question is: Station WDS or station bridged?. I read about it, but I find nothing to make me choose one.(I use NV2)
Can anyone give me some advice?
thanks
It is my understanding that station bridge is only to be used in ptp links where the other side is setup as bridge not ap bridge. I could be wrong as we only do station wds on ptmp links.
If all your wireless equipment are mikrotik, there’s nothing wrong to use ‘station bridge’. It’s even simpler and cleaner that way
Yell, is all mikrotik.
One question, I need that sxt clients (and Pcs attached) can not see the others SXT, although I have not clear how make it.
bridge or wds makes it more easy?
I fear that if I choose wrong one or the other, have trouble separating the SXT
Seems like you might not need bridging at all. You can achieve separation by using routing, depends on your setup. If you choose to go along with bridges, make sure to disable forwarding in AP wireless config. That way sxt’s associated with that AP are isolated from each other, but keep in mind that every one of them will be visible from the bridge side..
Thanks!, I did not know that.
I maked some tests and “station bridge” with “Deault forward” disabled is perfect for me.
