Hi.
Had some problems with MT ROS on x86 (kernel panic) ver. 6.24 at the end I had to do netinstall (with last OS ver. 6.37 rc20)
but because this x86 doesn’t support boot from Lan I had to put HDD on difrent x86 (PC that support boot from Lan) everything went well
but after installation finished MT OS generate new Software ID (I don’t know why, this is not my first time doing netinstall on x86)
it is the same HDD but new ID
I mean why is that? What can go wrong? Is there a way to bring back my original Software ID?
Thanks.
Do you still have the disk in that different PC, or did you already return it to the original one?
One thing software ID depends on is disk identification, and I think I recall some reports about identification sometimes changing with disk connected to different controller. I may be mistaken, but try that if you didn’t already.
I removed original Disk from original PC and placed on second PC while there is no other HDD disc attached to second PC only original Disk and do netinstal can’t find answer on this forum if case is different pc controller I will try to find a way to reinstall MT on original PC
No, you have the the system installed already, so simply take the disk, connect it back to original machine, and it should boot just fine (it’s not picky about different hardware like Windows). And you’ll see if it does anything to software ID.
Yes I did that but new Software ID remains.
I’d say send a message to tech support and get them to generate a replacement license for you.
In that case, sorry for the false hope. Only MikroTik support can help you.
