Is there a method to align an SXT sq 5 ac with an Omnitek? I have read the tech notes on LEDs but it is not only difficult for a beginner to understand, the examples don’t say if the LED’s illuminate ONLY on traffic activity or when simply aligning with the Omnitek, which I think most users would expect.
As well, I only see one led at the bottom of the back of the SXT yet, a long string of LED’s illuminate very quickly upon reboot above the single led light at the bottom of the unit - are those the LEDs a user is supposed to observe?
As well, those LEDs illuminate only upon reboot and so quickly it’s impossible to ascertain how many are being illuminated.
Hi, didn’t see the LEDs in previous releases here as well.
When in release 6.46 or 6.45.7 they fixed " led - fixed default LED configuration for RBLHG-2nD and RBLHG-5HPnD" , they might as well have fixed the default setting of the LED’s on the SXTsq 5 ac, because it has very similar characteristics.
As now with 6.46.2 they do appear permanently.
It’s about default setting , so it can be set in any release : under “System → LEDs → add LED trigger”. https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:System/LEDS
But it is of minimal help. The LED’s come all up too fast for the default setting. Even if you would adjust the signal threshold. It’s not very accurate for aligning.
You better log in to the SXTsq 5 ac and use the “Align” button for the WLAN 1in WinBox or Webfig , and follow the RX and TX signal quality on your screen.

And even then you are actually looking for the best direction, for the top signal where the antenne spectrum is flat. Some degrees off will not learn much. Device SXTsq and Omnitik need to have clear line of sight for good signal. So visual lining out is what I expect to be the most accurate.
