ALIX.2D2 and NStreme Dual

Hi,

So I have an ALIX.2D2 board with 2 R5H cards connected to a ARC dual polarity antenna configure for Nstreme Dual, the other end is a RB600 with 2 XR5 cards and same type antenna. All cards are set to their default tx power. No routing, firewall, just barebone configs. In testing from computer to computer, I am only pushing between 5 - 7 Mbps TCP through this link.

My question is, as anyone used the ALIX.2D2 in a Nstreme Dual config? What is the throughput?
I’ll be replacing this board with a 433AH board. But it is a waste of this board as it fits perfect inside the ARC enclosure.

Just a follow up.

So I did several additional testing using the ALIX.2D2 board, RB600 and RB433AH boards. I have found that the ALIX board was not the problem with the poor throughput I was getting from my tests. I tried several other setups, RB433AH w/R5Hs to RB600 w/XR5s, RB433AH to ALIX 2D2, etc., with the common denominator being the antennas. No improvement with throughput.
Changing from Nstreme dual to AP the throughput increases. This lead me to conclude that using dual polarity antennas for Nstreme dual is a NO NO. Not enough spacing between antennas.

Hope this provide some insight to those of us looking to use dual polarity antenna for Nstreme.

we do not recommend to use dual polarization antennas for Nstreme dual, as we have seen that max what you can get is approx 20Mbps Full duplex using UDP. So better use seperate antennas and place them not so close to each other.

Point taken.

Thanks..

Please let us know if you can solve the nstreme issue. I am going to implement one so looking for comments.

My new test proves to be alot more promising. I have a new test setup using ARC5823P panel antennas at each end of the nstreme point. Test was done using RB433AH w/2xR5H and RB600 w/2xR52H connected to the panel antennas. I have framer policy set to none in this test, using turbo mode and frequencies 5290 and 5760.

The speeds from the test.
2 way throughput averages 25-30Mbps pc - pc.
1 way throughput averages 46-50Mbps.
TCP traffic flowing through nstreme.

I am going to do the same test on the ALIX board with the XR5s and see what the throughput is.

Hi,

I had the same problem. Now I have two dishes and everything is fine.
With the old Mikrotik, D-Link, Ubiquity cards I can use duplex dishes, but with the newer cards (ie. R5H) I have to use two dishes.
