Allow access to the disk via SFTP but without console access

Hi all,

I want to give a user access to the disk to download some file using SFTP but without access to command line.

I created a new Group+User with only ftp and ssh policies but he is unable to read disk.

If I give the read policy he can both read the disk and the configuration!

I'm doing it wrong or is RouterOs policies broken?

I know that I can use SMB but I've a single PC that is not able to connect (old Linux, not upgradable, etc...).

Ciao,

it can't be done.
If you don't use SMB, everything else is just for administrators and/or installers,
there's nothing for the end user.

Obviously if you use a container it's a whole different story,
but the FTP or HTTP integrated into RouterOS is not for making a file sharing platform.

NFS ? Using rose-storage package.

NFS and SMB date back to the last century...
How come they are not available?

Sometimes there are still some very old machines in use that cannot be replaced or tampered with.

Yes but SMB doesn't works and I'm not entitled to access that PC...

No problem: the PC has a working floppy :rofl:
