Hello folks.
I’d like to suggest another medium access. I think most of problems WISPs have with interference is related to the exposed terminal problem. In my case, for example, I use sector antennas in my ERBs and directional antennas in my clients. When my RouterBOARDs transmit to a client, I’m sure that this will not interfere in others WISPs clients, because their antennas are aimed to other ERB. But my RouterBOARDs need to sense the channel before transmiting. Useless, because, as I said, we know that it won’t interfere in others transmitions.
So, my suggestion is to give us an option to disable carrier sensing when transmiting. I think just doing this will solve the problem and still compatible with general 802.11a/b/g CPEs.
