Another ROS upgrade, Another bricked hAP ac

I just upgraded several Mikrotik products (951G, 3011, CCR1016-12G and hAP ac) to ROS 6.44. As has happened several times in the past, one of the hAP acs bricked and went into the ‘boot loop’ many of us have seen. I went to Netinstall to bring this unit back to life, with MANY failed attempts. Finally, I inserted a gigabit switch between the PC and the hAP ac, and got Netinstall to work. In the past I’ve recovered 6 of this model with Netinstall, and had to RMA three others that were too far gone. No problems at all with any other Mikrotik models.

Has anyone else had this problem with the hAP ac units? Does this unit have some hardware design issues? Since I use these exclusively as APs, I don’t think I’ll buy any more of these in the future. I’ll go with the newer cAP ac line.

Mine keeps losing all its wireless interfaces on reboot and I have to do factory reset.

I upgraded mine hAP AC2 without any problem ..

I noticed similar behavior on hAP ac^2 and according to support, it was caused by graphing enabled → try to disable graphing on your wifi interfaces and give it try again  maybe it won’t disappear after reboot.

I have 10 hAP AC (RB962). Updating to every stable update for the last 2 years, never had any problems.
