Hi
Anyone know if Mikrotik is working on some fibre aggregation Layer 2 and 3 switches ?
e.g 24 port 1gbps SFP + at least 2 x 10Gbps SFP uplinks?
e.g to compete with Extreme Networks, Edgecore etc.

The CRS226 is exactly what you’re describing…24x 1 Gbps ports with 2x SFP+ 10 Gbps ports. What we really need is something with 12x or more SFP+ 10 Gbps ports, a switch with 48x 1 Gbps ports, or even 24x 1 Gbps with 4x 10 Gbps ports. Of course, with any of these, we’d also like simple features found in $30 dumb switches like hardware-based STP so we don’t have to use bridges (limiting overall throughput unnecessarily), proper 802.3ad support, and a laundry list of other features MikroTik doesn’t seem to think are useful while the community at large keeps asking for it…
I did say at least 24x SFP, not ethernet, only fibre.
Something to compete with the Extreme Networks Summit X440-24x-10G, or the netgear GSM7328FS-200NES.
The Mikrotik CCR1016-12S-1Splus is nice, but too few ports and 1 x 10Gbps SFP is not enough to stack.
802.3af would be nice. Even better if it was fanless (Even if this means less ports)
i think in the switching area we have to wait until mikrotik mature its implementation with rstp and lacp support, and newer devices
5 or more 10g ethernet ports switch is needed
what about 10g base t??
what about multigigabit: 2.5gigabit ethernet and/or 5 gigabit ethernet over twisted pair??
i think 2016 define the course of mikrotik on switching market
