To all those who have tried uploading the blocklist to their web-proxy, did you encounter any problems?

Can somebody from mikrotik tell us how many lines can MT’s web-proxy access list take.

I have also uploaded a spyware-site blocklist and im affraid I might drag-down my MT’s performance. Instead of making web-access faster for cached hits the proxy might take too long matching URL’s on the access list.

I think you need to upload the file again because of the following reason.

Wrong Pickup Code:
The pickup code you entered is not correct. Possible reasons:

  1. The file is expired.
  2. The file owner closed the share or deleted the file.
  3. The pickup code is not entered correctly.

whike everybody confirms the perfection of the porn blocklist, it was a hell on my MT router…my CPU load was 100% and customers were just complaining.

I personaly think it’s a bad idea to have host names in the rules because of the massive dns requests. I would rather make a script to convert those hostnames into IP addresses and update them in intervals in case the hosts changes IP, and also remove the old IP number from the rules. Some hosts also have multiple IP numbers assigned to them and I don’t know how to resolve them, except from the command “host” in linux. That would involve another computer to make the list and execute a script in the RouterOS to fetch the list and import it at regular intervals.

I just realized that the free online storage I used (mofile.com) is limited to 3 days only.

As to the performance of the access list in a live system, we need more feedback from you guys and some comments from our Mikrotik experts.

To all of you guys, If this access list proves to be a valuable porn deterence for our customers, we need everybody’s cooperation to update (add more sites and delete invalid links) and propagate this list. Every single URL will be much appreciated to make the net a safer and better place for everybody.

I most start by saying thanks to u guys u have done a great Job but my greatest problem is how may can i past at a time? is there a better way of runing all? becouse when i try pasting all my router will discount,please is there a way i can just run all may be from the ftp on Mt router,
it work when i past few lines but u know the size is large if i can run it onces i will be very happy.
