anyone here using Celeron CPU?

I want to buy Intel celeron (2.0A / 128 cache / PIB) or (Celeron-D 2.4A / 256 cache/ PIB)… and most probably the second one since there is only 8 dollar different.

is it recommended or is there a bad result on Celeron cpu?
I am going to use ASUS ASUS P4GE-MX / INTEL 845 / 533 FSB/ 1MB CACHE / V+L) as my mainboard…

thanks.

we have a lot of 1ghz celerons here for testing routeros. so no problem with them

I use Cel 2.4 for testing and development.

I run Intel boards…

I have great sucess with them.

buy anything from intel (except xeons) and you are going to face no problems.

xeon is nice, (i think i’m saying this the 5th time already) we tested multiple GBps aggregate throughput over a couple of xeon computers.

I didn’t say they don’t work, but don’t forget to upgrade your BIOS on motherboard when trying to use xeons. Intel had screwed up something, feel free to browse their archives. You need new BIOSes to avoid unexpected shutdowns of OS - and this is not OS dependent.

thanks for the warning
