not me, but everybody is saying realtek eth cards are very bad
I think that probably the newer realtek chips are ok, but the drivers are made to support most of the chips and include many workarounds for different problems in different chips. So, the driver may make a good version of the realtek chip into a slow and problematics one because of all the work around. And it is difficult to know which chip you have and which ones are good.

there were some quirks and rough edges from the very early 8139 batch, but recent revisions, like C and D (you shouldn’t be able to buy anything but 8139D for more than two years) and 8100 recent revisions should be behaving correctly.
Many times, problems are usually solved by setting AUTO-NEGOTIATION=OFF in /interface ethernet. We have seen huge problems, packet loss etc. with 3com 905 cards connected to cisco 3660 and other ciscos (switches etc) - and yes, those are Ciscos ! Everything was solved with auto-nego off switch. We didn’t have ANY problems with Intel/pro cards (Fast ethernet or Gigabit ones) so far and yes, we put them thru hell…
bye, mp3turbo.
We used exactly these platforms, running fine. We have only one problem, that the compact flash was detected as a primary slave, but there is a switch to make it primary master.

so whats the process, just to have the mikrotik os on a flash card and then plug it?
can you tell me the process step by step, please..

I curently run form CF on Via Epia board
Just plug a formated CF card into windows pc (with any kind of usb card reader) and run mikrotik netinstal utility that has an option to install to the specified drive/card
