AP blocking a WiFi client - Bug?

Router OS ver: 6.49.17

Hi, I encountered a weird issue where my laptop WiFi NIC got somehow filtered on this AP. I could not ping anything outside the AP.
The client was able to connect on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz SSIDs. And was able to connect to another client on the same AP.

I managed to resolve it by changing the MAC address of the WiFi NIC.

How is this even possible?
