AP + Captive separated - what to buy, how to configure

Hello,

as there is no German forum, I will try to explain at my best :slight_smile:

My job:
Provide public hotspot to a building with 2 floors where only POE-powered-AP is an option.
Should lateron be run with voucher system (ferrariehijos ReadyVouchers).
Seperated from internal network

(Seperation: My Modem-Router can do this by managing multiple internal networks (per Ethernet connector LAN1-LAN4))

Questions:
How should I set it up?
What do I need to buy?


Idea:
WAN ↔ Modem-Router LAN1 (internal) <-LAN-> Switch ↔ Internal network
“” LAN2 (guest) <-LAN-> (1) Mikrotik Device Routerboard with 2+ POE ports <-LAN-> 2 x Wireless-AP POE (1 per floor = (2) (3))


Back to questions:

Is it possible to

  • declare 1 RouterOS-device a MASTER ((1) Routerboard as shown above)
  • make the APs work like range extenders ((2), (3) connected via LAN/Ethernet with POE)
    Like… hEX PoE lite + 2 x cAP ac (or hAP ac lite or wsAP ac lite)

Or can I even reduce the whole thing to 1 MASTER AP (by Mikrotik) and another AP as Range Extender (connected via Ethernet)?
Like… cAP ac (or hAP ac lite or wsAP ac lite ) + same model as “slave”
