I am setting an ap on a regular celeron 2.0ghz the ap will have 4 radios with 4 120 degree sector antennas my question is if on that motherboard I can set 4 MiniPCI Adapter RouterBOARD 11 - One MiniPCI Slot / with 4 sr2 400mW cards?
My goals are 70 - 100 clients x radio. Total 400 clients. can this be achieved with a celeron 2.0? or I need more cpu power? the motherboard is on a top of a building on a comm room with a/c, heat is not a problem.
People say that 50 clients per AP is some optimal value, so you can maybe expect 200 clients per your AP with 4 radio cards. Of course, they would have to use different channels. 4 MiniPCI adapter should work on any motherboard or you can just buy a motherboard with at least 4 PCI slots and use 4 single MiniPCI adapters. 2GHz CPU should do the job if you don’t have complicated setup regargind package marks and things like that.
