Hi guys
we are using microtik, i couldn’t tell you the exact verions however we use winbox to connect to it and we are using this 5ghz card wireless atheros ar5413.
The problem we face are heavy populated trees, they are constantly a nuisance. The signal on this particular AP is anything from -88 to -93% at which it drops out.
When it is working because of the low signal it is literally not even worth using it because there is very little bandwith to be shared.
i will show you a picture as this may help in explaining the current setup.

TB AP-F is hardwired into the network and this feeds TB AP-G with a 5ghz backhaul via an omni (this also feeds 2 other access points). there are loads of trees inbetween the two APs ( F and G).
i was thinking about running a external grade network cable underground with armoured cable from AP-F to AP-G
*there is a switch next to AP-F where i can network from
*the distance between these two locations is 98m
*because of the cable length distance i was going to use a switch in between 2 x 50m cables, to give it enough power to drive the signal?
*there is no power in between the location (only at TB AP-F and TB AP-G), so was thinking of a POE switch inbetween the locations?
I also have 48v Active POE 802.3af, Ubiquiti (not sure if this could be used somewhere)
what do you think guys, would this work?
thanks
