I have such trouble: I have 2.8.28 MT Router OS running on Intel server. I use it only as a VNP server, I use PPTP. Clients connect to server with Windows XP VPN client.
The VPN connection is good, quite stable. But the applications runig are frequently loosing connection to servers inside VPN - the applications are terminal-based (Microsoft Remote Desktop, Powerterm-Cache). Winbox is suffering even more, it lasts for 1 minute or so. The terminal connections can sometimes last 2 hours, sometimes 5 minutes. The internet connection of vpn server and vpn clients is fast enoght. I tried to change MTU on PPTP interřface (I tried 1500 and 1400) which was the only thing I found in forum but it didn’t affect anything.
Do you have any advice/adea?
