any app for end user on ios simple ???
like unifi app
Hello there,
Did you mean WinBox or MikroTik app on iOS? Have you try searching for that on AppStore, since I’m not iOS user.
Regards.
There is a Mikrotik app in the store. I have it on an iPad but always use winbox on MacOS so cannot speak for how good or reliable it is.
I highly recommend you using WinBox from your desktop environment like your MacOS. Mobile app is good for mobility, but I can’t find good experience while using MikroTik/WinBox app on mobile devices, perhaps it’s better use the app for monitor/change to a minor things on your network.
But, if you want the mobile configuration acces into your router you could try WebFig that you can access from your mobile browsers or you could try terminal apps (i.e Termius) for CLI access into your own router.
Here is a link to the app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mikrotik/id1323064830
I think the iOS app be fine if you have one WAN that’s plugged into ether1 on Mikrotik. The app has a setup wizard that let you set WAN IP and/or LAN subnet, Wi-Fi name/password, etc.
The app lets you setup Port Forwarding. The iOS will even prompt you to upgrade, which you should do. In the most recent versions (and if router is an ARM-based one), there is the “Back To Home” VPN & there is a different Mikrotik app for that. But that let you setup a VPN from your iOS device back to your home network on the Mikrotik. See https://apps.apple.com/lv/app/mikrotik-back-to-home/id6450679198
I’m pretty sure you get setup a basic network using just an iPad.
Now If you have more complex needs (e.g. VLANs). There is the web via 192.168.88.1. Or download winbox, which is the more rich interface for sure (work on Mac/Linux via wine).
caps man not show in app
Beyond just CAPsMAN. On ARM wAPacR, wireless setting don’t show up when using “old” wi-fi package using iOS app. I reported it as a bug a little bit ago, so hopeful be fixed at some point soon. They split the wi-fi drivers in 7.13, so I suspect app isn’t deal with that correctly.
Although for iOS app is fine SOHO, IMO… CAPsMAN has a lot of setting and the Advanced UI in iOS app is kinda tedious to go up/down the menu tree for all the various setting for stuff like CAPsMAN. webfig in browser or winbox on desktop likely easier for for CAPsMAN etc. anyway. Should still work however…
Agreed, one should not be configuring from scratch on IOS app. Its mean really for tweaking a config or adding wg peer etc…
Not for complex changes to the config.
