Applicaton Support for Hot Spot to Internal Network

Hi,

I use the MikroTik routers for some hotspots I run in Yacht Marinas. As a result of doing this I have been working on how I can provide a system for some of the larger yachts to connect to mine (and other) hotspots and general wireless connections. I think the MikroTik can do it but I am not clever enough to work out how.

I want to configure a router with two wireless cards and aerials. One would be a high gain Aeriel and would be used to connect to the hotspot or general wireless access point and the second would provide local wireless to notebook computers on the yacht. Clearly you would NATs on the local network so that the you could connect through the DHCP IP address provided by the hotspot or access point.

I cant quite see how you bridge the two connections and also how you would provide an interface to scan the available wireless access points and connect to them (sometimes with the requirement for a password for security. Obviously if it was a hotspot then the first computer to connect would need to log in but after that it would be OK as the hotspot would see only the one IP address and MAC address.

It would also be nice to integrate a 3G modem, but I don’t think you can do that with the routerboards.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and how I would go about configuring it?
