We have several Moto Canopy AP’s showing color code and registered SM’s. when i add a new AP it will not show this info. i use the add device and put all the exact same info in the settings but still not showing it. is there a different way i need to add them.
May I ask why you are asking about Canopy equipment on the Mikrotik Forums???
May I also suggest you replace all your Canopy gear with Mikrotik gear ![]()
i am just asking a question about the software. ![]()
Regarding the QRN from VK7ZMS… I have written many Canopy device functions to display any data available with great results. Of course they were fed with MT backhauls, and mixed with many MT APs. The Dude is a network monitoring tool for networks and especially good for wireless networks. I couldnt care less if he was asking about other manufacturers. Dare I say that there are some things that even MT cant do. The question was extremely relevant. Now for the answer…
With Canopy you will find the SNMP oid’s change sometimes between firmware levels. If you run the SNMPWalk on the device that doesnt show data, you will probably find that the oid is different.
I would suspect that even MT is susceptable to this anomaly. Funny that you say replace all Canopy with Mikrotik. I was asked to replace a few Canopy links with MT today. They want MT after I introduced it. I will now determine if that is the correct solution. His Canopy isnt really too bad off, but he thinks it is.
If it isnt broken, why spend the money to fix it? Why not go get more customers and use MT for them. I have built, re-built and fixed hurricane damaged wireless networks for many years. If you dont know that the Dude can help any network, you have missed the good stuff or maybe had too much of it. ![]()
Try sorting bandwith by interface within the Big C’s CLI. On top of that, the enhanced Torch utility within the Dude – Pie Charts and bandwidth aggregation! --are features not found anywhere else, and Dude doesnt even care who the manufacturer is.
Are you just a lid? ![]()
