are you using handphone on console?

hi guys,
I’ve been trying to find a way to remotely control the device after bad
configuration (such as disabling interface) or bad firewall rule and also
be able to get device SMS me when for example certain IP or gateway
is down or there is certain condition happenning (for example loosing
electric power and alarm by ups)

so I have two problem here, I dont know which phone is good and cheap
for this, I dont want to use 500 dollar phone for this case, just something
like 80 or 130 usd is normal.

but will MT 2.9 support usb connector to phone? cause most of the
handphone I saw in the market only have usb cable…

and after all how can I do that in scripting? is there any sample code?

Thanks

PS: Please tell me which phone and hardware and cable you are using if
you already have this setup

sure would be nice to have!

I have tried to play with serial to cell phone connections. I guess it would be easier to send “AT” commands from MT serial to do what you are thinking. I’ve seen some discussion on this forum before.

Good luck

Some Networkproviders support email2sms. So it is possible to let MT send an email 2 your provider and the providers sends the email to your cellphone in sms format

I`m using this setup for monitoring 50 servers using HP Systems Insight Manager ( which uses email for alerts)

but sms is only one purpose, the main purpose is to be able to log into
the device for maintainance.

thanks for your reply
