Hi,
I have a Mikrotik CCR 1036 in the central location which connects a number of remote hotspot customers. In terms of connectivity, everything is fine in L2 and there is no redundancy[It’s single link environment, where loop is not possible] but these days i’m seeing lots of unnecessary ARP broadcast traffic that the router is generating and those are destined to the IP which are not in use. It does mean that it’s not sending broadcasts to the destinations which are already in the local ARP table. I’m not sure what kind of behavior of Mikrotik is this but it’s making lots of issues and affecting all the customers. If anyone give me idea behind this, I would appreciate your efforts.
Additionally, if it’s default behavior of Mikrotik, please let me know how can I suppress that in order to prevent unnecessary broadcasts. If you need, I can provide you the Wireshark capture results.
Thanks in advance!
