The listed ARP limit for RouterOS is 8192… my question is, will the new Cloud Core Router allow for a higher arp limit, or possibly x86 RouterOS support for higher arp limits in future releases?
We’re looking at moving away from using an Alcatel 6850 for our backend management network(which has an ARP table limit of 16k), and onto an RB1200 that we presently have. Right now we ride at around 6k ARP entries at any given point in time on the 6850. With our planned expansions, we will be well over 8k entries within the next year and we would like to upgrade to the CCR with 10G ports when it comes out, if it will support a larger ARP table. Alternatively, we would be happy to migrate to an x86 server appliance running ROS if it is feasible on x86. So, how about it? Is this a possibility, or should we look at other options?
