[ask]vrrp things......?????

i would like to ask what is vrrp & what is it for…??? i read the manual but its to short information…

VRRP protocol is used to ensure constant access to some resources. Two or more routers (referred as VRRP Routers in this context) create a highly available cluster (also referred as Virtual routers) with dynamic fail over. Each router can participate in not more than 255 virtual routers per interface.
In other words last switch is connected to the two or more routers, they are actings as failover for local network.

is it like a backup router…?? i mean when a master router down the second router will take over..??

it is all in MT reference manual see there, there are many questions answered about routeros configuration. if you have test router even better - you can test everything yourself.

please read manual, and then ask questions.

if there is no or little information provided please follow links to RFC or Google about technology you are interested in. usually there is an answer in simple networking documentations, if you do not know basics most probably you wont be able to configure your routerOS correctly and will eventually have problems.

wuhiiiii…test it & its working man…thx
