I would like to always assign the same IP address to the same MAC address. I do not use user manager. My CPEs authenticate via MAC address.
if you go through winbox, IP-DHCP Server-Leases, you’ll see an option “Make Static” i think thats what youre looking for. I’m using version 3 so if it doesn’t work for earlier versions please let me know.
Not that easy. I tried that at first and although it does not issue that IP address to anyone else, it will issue the client a diferent IP next time it requests. My guess is that the button “make static” does exactly what it says. It turns that IP into a static IP address, not a reserved IP address.
I’m pretty sure the make static button does exactly what it says, maybe there is a bug…
